Feather and Fern Wildscapes believes that each plant was specially designed for its place, and in turn supports the life of its greater ecosystem. Including us. Planting natives not only restores vital, life-giving habitat to all of us, it is also a way of saying “Thank You.”

Founder – Shelby Aldrich

Shelby Aldrich leads Feather and Fern Wildscapes. She was born and raised in central Pennsylvania. After earning her Bachelor’s degrees in Russian and International Studies from Juniata College, Shelby returned home to Perry County. Her and her husband have been committed to sustainability and environmental stewardship for many years. Originally, with a distinct focus on sustainability in the human-built environment, Shelby has her Living Future Accreditation and William is a Certified Passive House Consultant. Recently, Shelby took a step back to re-examine the natural systems in her woods and gardens. Rather than just focusing on how we can build better to sustain the earth, she wanted to help steward the systems that have already long been in place to sustain us. Clean water, clean air, healthy soils, a thriving food web…can all be reliant on the very plants in our backyard. Shelby leads Feather and Fern Wildscapes as the project coordinator, designer, and landscaper.
